This is a basic 5x8 bathroom with a metal tub and single vanity. The floor is bare plywood, the cabinet is missing doors, and the paint has yellowed over time. Time to update! The plan is to create an accessible or curbless shower (no bathtub), tile the floor, replace the vanity, toilet, and fixtures, and finish it off with a fresh coat of paint.
You can see we have removed the bathtub, toilet, (and vanity), and all of the tiles. For this bathroom renovation we have added sound proofing to the walls, reinforced the floor with 3/4" plywood (glued and screwed down), centered the new shower drain. This washroom took 1 day to demo and clean up all debris. Plumbing rough-in changes as well as adding the sound proof insulation took 1 day. The new subfloor and lowering the floor in the shower was an additional day. So far we have spent 3 days of labour, disposal fees, and rough in materials - cost so far $3,000
